You probably didn't remove material when you cross-threaded the bottom bracket shell in. If it's a steel frame, you can cut new (correct) threads.

Description:Thank you all for replying, as I've said, these are all great suggestions, and I have or will try them all. Through the internet, I have located some Boeshield T-9 at a great little bike shop in Toronto, called Biseagal. T-9 is definitely not WD, and I am on round 2 of soaking overnight. I checked this morning, and it doesn't appear that it seeped in very much, as the level of the fluid is virtually unchanged.
